We had the opportunity to speak with Notre Dame Offensive Line commit Will Black recently to afford fans the opportunity to learn a little bit more about him. Will currently plays football out of Wallingford, CT, and is one of the top Offensive Line recruits in the country - rated as the 107th player in the entire class according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. Will stands at 6'7", 295lbs. Along with having great size, he shows terrific athleticism and speed that immediately jumps out at you once you turn on the tape. Will has the body type and skill set that will translate extraordinarily well for him, as he looks to continue the tradition at Notre Dame that is "O-Line U". As Marcus Freeman and company continue to impress in the recruiting department, Irish fans should be excited with what Will is bringing to the table from both a talent and potential standpoint. Will is poised to be an anchor in what is already an extremely talented Offensive Line room. Let's get to the interview!

What was the recruiting process like?  Favorite Part/Worst Part of it?

"The recruiting process was great.  My favorite part was meeting different coaches, visiting and learning about schools.  My least favorite part was the time it took to talk to coaches every day."

What were your main factors taken into account when choosing a school?

"I wanted to choose a school that had high level football and developed offensive lineman, as well as a great business school that will set me up for life after football."

Why did you choose Notre Dame over other schools?

"I chose Notre Dame because of the people and the culture there.  The coaching staff was my favorite. Joe Rudolph has the tools to develop me into an NFL offensive lineman. Notre Dame's Business School and alumni will carry me through life after football."

What is your favorite spot-on campus?

"My favorite spot on campus would be the Gug (football facility) and the golden dome."

Where do you see yourself fitting in on Offense?

"I see myself coming in as a freshman and getting developed each and every day.  I want to be able to give the 1s good looks in practice.  When it is my time to start I won't take it for granted.  I see myself using my athleticism in Notre Dame's offense and getting out in space."

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

"My goals are to win a NEPSAC Championship again,  give up zero sacks and zero QB pressures, as well as be a dominant force in the run game."

What is your relationship like with the other members of Notre Dame's class? Who is on your wishlist?

"I have a good relationship with the other guys in the class.  Especially Deuce (Knight), Owen (Strebig), and Matty (Augustine). We get along great. I would like to pick up Jadon Blair and Derek Meadows."

What are some of your hobbies outside of football?

"I like to golf and go bowling with friends."

What is something unique about you the fans may not know?

"I started playing hockey and soccer as a kid. I have only played 3 years of football."

Who is the funniest guy in the class?

"Deuce (Knight)."

Who was your favorite college team growing up?

"Notre Dame."

Who is the NFL player you compare yourself to/aspire to be like?

"Lane Johnson."

Who is your favorite NFL team?

"Pittsburgh Steelers."
