Notre Dame hoops picked up their first 2025 commit this past Monday in 6’9” power forward, Brady Koehler. The Indianapolis native held offers from Iowa, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Butler, and many more, marking a solid recruiting win for the Irish as head coach Micah Shrewsberry continues to shine.
Koehler, preparing for his senior season, made a name for himself this past summer playing for the Indy Heat Gym Rats in the EYBL. There, Koehler showed why he is the sixth-ranked player in Indiana and that he will only continue to develop during high school ball this season.
He highlighted his impact on the offensive side of the ball during the summer, establishing a pure mid-range jump shot off the dribble, as well as his ability to catch and shoot from beyond the ark. He doesn’t do anything fancy with the ball in his hand and only needs one-to-two dribbles to get enough space to put a shot up. When he doesn’t have the ball, he is elite at finding the opening in the defense, whether it be a layup, a mid-range jumper, or a three-ball.
While his high school season with the Shamrocks hasn’t tipped off just yet, it can be almost guaranteed his numbers from a season ago will only go up. Koehler averaged 15.5 points per game in 20 minutes also grabbing 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Koehler also showcased his 6’9” frame, averaging 2.3 blocks as well.
Brady Koehler kicks off what is set to be an exciting 2025 Notre Dame class as Shrewsberry begins settling into South Bend.
