An Update on 2025 Receiving Targets

After recently going 0-3 on 5-star WR Derek Meadows, 4-star WR Dylan Robinson, and 4-star WR Tanook Hines in the 2025 class, Notre Dame needed to come up with a plan of action, and they did just that, as it was announced last night that they had offered several C/O 2025 wide receivers. Jalen Cooper, Jace Brown, and Antavious Richardson all announced yesterday evening that they had received offers from Notre Dame via their social media accounts. All three recruits are very capable of being great on field talent for ND if they can secure their commitments.

Here’s some quick hitters on all three offered recruits.

Jalen Cooper

Jalen Cooper is a 6’2", 165lbs 4-star WR out of Cibolo, TX. He’s currently a Senior at Steele High School, where he is 1st team All-State at the wide receiver position. He is ranked the 33rd best WR in the nation by 247Sports Composite rankings. In 2023, Cooper collected 68 receptions for 1,661yds with 23 TDs, and averaged 24.4 yards per reception. Cooper is currently committed to SMU.

Jace Brown

Jace Brown is a 6’2", 194lbs 3-star WR out of Downey, CA. He is currently a Senior at Warren High School, where he’s a two sport athlete in Track and Football. In 2023, Brown had 46 receptions for 560yds and 6 TDs. Brown is currently committed to UCLA.

Antavious Richardson

Antavious Richardson is a 6’2", 170lbs 3-star ATH, who is being recruited by Notre Dame to play WR. He’s a Senior at Greenville High School, where he is a Georgia A-Division State champion in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. In 2023, he played at the QB, RB, and S positions. On offense, he carried the ball 69 times for 801 yards and 2 TDs. On defense, he collected 54 tackles, with four of those tackles being for a loss, and one fumble recovery. Richardson is currently committed to USF.

It will be interesting to see if the Irish can flip any of the three recruits they just offered. All three offered would be a great start to fill the gaps in the 2025 Class that were left from previous misses on the trail. Mike Brown and Marcus Freeman could certainly begin to turn the tide back in their favor after a dismal month of July.
